Recovery Day 3

We are wireless! Cam got all of the bells and whistles removed late this afternoon so we are now mobile and free standing. Hopefully he will sleep better tonight without all the tubes. He didn't sleep too well last night. Because he is in a semi-private room with another patient, I was not allowed to stay the night in his room, but I slept in the waiting area and came in to check on him throughout the night. When I came in around 2:30, he was watching Cosby Show reruns on TV. He turned up the volume during my favorite part of the show. I married a good man :)

Getting out of bed was easier today then yesterday. He also used crutches for the first time to the door and back. (Still no trips down the hall). Tomorrow we are going to practice going up a couple of steps with crutches because we have 2 steps leading to our front door. They think of everything around here!

We still have another day in the hospital tomorrow, but should be on schedule to discharge late in the afternoon. He still has to do x-rays and yada yada.

Today was a busy day. Between the physical therapy visits, Cameron managed to get a quick nap. (It never fails that right when he falls into a deep sleep, someone comes to wake him up!) We had received a bill from the hospital right before we left town from the radiologist who did his initial x-rays at his consultation appointment a couple of months ago. Instead of wasting a stamp, I figured I would just pay it when we got here. So Christie and I went out on an excursion today to find where I could make that payment. We go down to the information desk on the 1st floor of the building and the lady informed us that the office was 3 blocks away. We decided we would walk and started to head outside. Oh no, it's 3 city blocks of HALLWAYS. This facility is mind-boggling enormous. Sure enough, we walked inside all these connecting tunnels (beautiful by the way) to get to the building we needed!

Off to go eat Cam's leftover dinner!
